Prom 52: Bizet’s Carmen from Glyndebourne

<p><strong>Glyndebourne Festival Opera</strong> makes its traditional visit to the Proms with that most red- blooded of red-blooded operas, <em>Carmen</em>. <strong>Bizet</strong>’s musical tale of a Gypsy factory-worker who seduces a military corporal before discarding him for the more glamorous toreador has all the ingredients of a tightly sprung operatic drama. </p>
