Featuring musicians from the Glyndebourne Sinfonietta with mezzo soprano Rachel Roper, Glyndebourne’s Learning & Engagement department presents a new work about wartime heroine and Sussex resident Dame Vera Lynn to 12 care homes and day centres across the county.
The work is inspired by the letters sent to Dame Vera Lynn during her BBC radio show, Sincerely Yours, which began in 1941.
It will include a new original song “Write me a Letter” by composer Lucy Armstrong and librettist Hazel Gould.
